Dear CEDARS INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY Families:
As we approach cooler temperatures, the Coats for Kids team is gearing up to partner with Central Texas Schools to ensure all kids in need of a warm winter coat receive one.
Coats for Kids is an annual, citywide coat drive held within the Central Texas community from November 13 - December 6, 2023. Warm winter coats are collected across the Austin community. Coats are then dry-cleaned and brought to The Junior League of Austin Community Impact Center where they are sorted by size. Volunteers from the community pick out coats from the Coats for Kids inventory that best match coat requests made by families in the Central Texas community.
Students, 18 years of age or younger, from your child’s school are eligible to receive a warm winter coat from Coats for Kids. If your child needs a warm winter coat, you may request one by scanning the below QR code or by following the link directly to the Coat Request Form.
An adult must complete the digital Coat Request Form on behalf of each child in need of a coat. The digital Coat Request Form may be submitted between October 16 and November 3, 2023. Only one coat request form may be submitted for each child. The Coat Request Form will collect the student’s name, school, grade, coat size, and special preferences such as color. The Coat Request Form will also collect the contact information for the adult completing the form.
The Coats for Kids distribution team will provide a warm, winter coat from its inventory that best matches the coat request made for each child. Although the Coats for Kids distribution team is not always able to provide the exact color or coat description as requested, they will always do their best to provide the coat size requested.
The Coats for Kids distribution team will ensure the coats are delivered directly to each school. Your student’s school will send the coat home with your child during the month of December. If your student receives a coat that does not match the description requested, please contact your school administrator.
