HS Principal's Weekly Message 08/27/24

Dear Cedars International Families,

I hope this message finds you all well as we enter the exciting month of October! We are thrilled to start the week with some fantastic news from our Cedars community.

A huge congratulations to Junior, Savion Smith, for his outstanding achievement as one of only 14 rowers selected to represent Texas at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta! This prestigious event, taking place from Friday, October 18, to Sunday, October 20, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is one of the most renowned rowing competitions in the world. Savion’s dedication, hard work, and perseverance have made him a standout athlete, and we are incredibly proud to have him represent Texas and our school on such a grand stage. Please join me in wishing Savion the best of luck!

In other exciting news, Mr. Hammontree will be hosting a special game night, “Spooky Night,” on October 18. This fun-filled event promises to bring a little Halloween spirit to our campus with games, costumes, and plenty of fun for all. Mark your calendars and get ready for a spooky good time!

We also have several important events coming up this month:

  • October 8: SAT Day for 12th Grade
  • October 8: Virtual PIC Meeting
  • October 18: Family BBQ from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
  • October 18-20: Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, MA (Cheer for Savion!)
  • October 22: PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifier Test for 11th Grade

As always, thank you for your continued support, and let's keep pushing forward together as we celebrate our students’ incredible achievements and build a strong, connected community.

Best regards,
