"Superintendent Announcement From the Board
The Board of Trustees of Cedars International Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael G. Blalock as the Superintendent for the District.
Mr. Blalock has served the Cedars community most recently as an Assistant Principal and Business Manager over the past 8 years. He will maintain his role as Business Manager. We believe he has set a sterling example with his business acumen and administrative leadership over these last months. The combination of his business and educational experience makes him uniquely qualified for this challenging time.
Mr. Blalock is a lifelong public servant committed to exceptional customer service, equity, and excellence in education for every student. His faith and his dedication are just two of the attributes that describe him well.
He began his career in education as a Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina, followed by a stint at the University of Texas as an Activity Specialist and Advisor and then as a teacher and Assistant Principal at the Eanes Independent School District before moving to serve the State of Texas at the Texas Water Commission, Public Utility Commission, Adjutant General's Department and the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality.
The Board feels confident in his ability to navigate Cedars through this unprecedented time in full collaboration with our team of faculty, staff, students, parents, community partners, and the Board. Mr. Blalock and the Board are committed to garnering the resources to support our students by obtaining the technology and tools to enhance their education, retaining our excellent teachers by innovative professional development and other incentives while remaining committed to protecting their health and welfare.
We are excitedly looking forward to the unlimited possibilities for greatness that lies ahead for our students!"
